How to remove Slave Cylinder on 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt ?


Slave (Actuator) Cylinder



Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    Fig. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder bolts from the transmission
  3. Disconnect the clutch actuator cylinder line.
  4. Remove the transaxle. Refer to Manuel Transaxle Assembly removal and installation.
  5. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder bolts from the transaxle.

  6. Remove the following components from the transaxle:
    1. The upper bolt.
    2. The clutch actuator cylinder.
To install:

WARNING
Excessive amounts of lubricant on the input shaft splines can contaminate the clutch disc and cause clutch shudder.

  1. Lubricate the inside diameter of the bearing.
  2. Install the clutch actuator cylinder to the transaxle.
  3. Install the clutch actuator cylinder bolts. Tighten the bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  4. Install the upper line release bolt. Tighten the bolt to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  5. Install the transaxle. Refer to Manuel Transaxle Assembly removal and installation.
  6. Connect the clutch actuator cylinder line.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8. Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic System Bleeding.
