1996 Pontiac Grand AM: Low A/c Service valve?

Low A/c pressure port. These is the port from where A/c refrigerant has to be charged.

The low side service port is located near the back of the A/C compressor.
For its easy access follow the larger line away from the compressor and it is about 4 inches down the pipe.
You have to reach down between the high pressure hose and the intake to feel it. It had a blue cap on it from the factory.

See below the  picture of the a new A/C hose is marked with a blue arrow where the port is.

Thanks.

1996 Lincoln Town car: Air conditioner Compressor will not engage?

A/C not cooling.A/C cooling fans not operating. Also compressor not getting engaged.

This is not a one part problem, there are several reasons that can cause this problem.

There could be several reasons causing A/C compressor not to engage.

It could be A/C cycling switch, high pressure cutout switch, Wide Open Throttle cutout relay, A/C compressor clutch or wiring issue.

  • First of all make sure your A/C system is fully charged.
  • If OK, check if you get any power to the A/C clutch( coil).
  • If you get power, then the coil is bad.
  • If no power to the clutch, then check A/C cycling switch( low pressure switch) witch should be closed as long as the system has pressure.
  • If ok, then check the high pressure switch which should be closed as long as the system pressure does not exceed 425 PSI.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser: A/C Blows Warm?

Compressor replaced, but still A/C blows Warm.
The Low pressure reading is 70 and high pressure reading goes high up to 500.

The Troubleshooting solution in this types of problem:-----

When an A/C compressor is replaced due to an internal mechanical failure, it is also required to check, flush and/or replace other components such as : condenser, expansion valve, receiver-drier. It should be done as the old faulty compressor could have thrown some debris and shavings into the system.
If your compressor engages and the system is charged but there is no cold air, then check the A/C low presure line and see if it is cold.

In most of such cases  expansion valve could be the most probable reason.

BUT please note on your car model. That is Chrysler PT cruiser Non-Turbo .......

It uses a variable orifice tube/valve instead of an expansion valve.

Working procedure and Location of this device:---
This device is used to meter the flow of liquid refrigerant into the evaporator coil and it is factory installed into the high pressure liquid line that connects the condenser outlet to evaporator inlet.
It is located in the end of the liquid line that is closest to the condenser and serviced only as a liquid line assembly.

The inlet end of the orifice tube has a nylon mesh filter screen that appears to be blocked with debris from your old compressor based on the pressure information you provided.
Normal low pressure should be within 25-40 PSI and high pressure 150-300PSI ( depends on ambient temperature).
Your both readings are too high that indicates a restriction and no flow.
In this case i recommend you to  have the condenser flushed or better replaced as it is the first item that receives output from the compressor and all debris usually are collected inside the condenser.
The A/C liquid line must be replaced.
Also get the other A/C parts and lines.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser: Vapor Blows From under the car?

A/C not Working ,not turning ON.Also the vapor blows out from under the car.
There are many possibilities from this problem.
But this problem i very much noticed on Chrysler PT Cruiser.

This is the high pressure pop off valve on the compressor releasing freon. You need to look at the condenser fan for this problem. Does the fan work at all with the ac on.

For your information:----
The fan module is right behind the radiator and bolted to the front of the vehicle. To test this you will  need a scan tool to activate the fans, but this is very common.

The other possibilities for this problem is issue with  computer or wiring issue, but this is very common on the PT cruiser, the high pressure valve needs to be inspected/tested.
Also see the fan module.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2009 Mercury Grand Marquis: A/C blows Cold From Defrost Vent Only?

Its a Vacuum related Issue.
Inspection is required.

On this system  it uses vacuum to control the air direction. At idle and at lower engine rpm vacuum is at the highest.Defrost and floor is the default position when there is no or little vacuum. So in your case default positions are working.
You  need to make sure there is no  vacuum loss from a hose ,check valve or a vacuum reservoir. The vacuum reservior is under the wiper arm and pivot shaft assembly. Not easy access for vacuum hose under the hood or at the back of the HVAC controller.

Inspecting this parts will help you to confirm, where the vacuum is getting lost.So you can continue your repairs on that part.

This details will help.
Thanks.
